Additional Bluetooth Mouse Features to Consider

Besides Bluetooth functionality, the look and feel of your mouse are very important. Consider a the best Bluetooth mouse with these features:

  • Shape. Make sure to get an ambidextrous shaped mouse if you use both hands or will potentially share your mouse with others.
  • Size. People with larger hands will want a larger Bluetooth mouse. Those with small hands or even those who travel a lot might want a smaller, more portable Bluetooth mouse.
  • Grip. Some Bluetooth mouse models have glossy finishes which can leave palms sweaty while others have rubbery finishes with more grip.
  • Extra buttons. Many people prefer the best Bluetooth mouse with more than just the standard three buttons and a scroll wheel. Some Bluetooth mouse models have side buttons and some have a button to turn the mouse off and on. Others still have even more buttons and features.

Top 3 Best Bluetooth Mouse Reviews

1. Samsung S Action Mouse

The Samsungs S Mouse is as plain as they come looks wise. However it delivers smooth usability and fantastic reviews from experts. We would take it one step further and say that this is the overall best Bluetooth mouse on the market.

Coming in both black and white varieties, the Samsung S Mouse uses a Bluetooth 3.0 wireless connection and a Blue Trace Sensor. Blue Trace technology allows the mouse to work well on most uneven surfaces such as carpets, cloth, and wood.

The small size of this Bluetooth mouse feels comfortable in the palm of most hands and allows for easy transport. The ambidextrous design is also great. At 2.2 × 3.8 × 1.3 inches and just 2.9 ounces, you can easily bring this with you wherever you go. Although plain and simple, Samsung has added nice detail to the side of the mouse with the faux stitching. At first glance, this gives the mouse a look of leather siding, although it is really just plastic.

Though this mouse falls within the best Bluetooth mouse category, it is however not without flaws. The Samsung S does not work on clear surfaces like glass. This is far from a deal breaker in our opinion, as a simple mouse pad will do the trick. Another drawback is that the mouse isn’t rechargeable, using a single AA battery instead.

Overall, the Samsung S is sturdy, reliable, offers great surface flexibility, and all at a great price. The search for the best Bluetooth mouse starts and ends here for most people.

2. Kensington SureTrack

Although slightly more expensive than the Samsung S, the Kensington SureTrack is another very solid option. Two legs up on the Samsung of the SureTrack are the ability to work on glass and the on/off switch. It also tracks well on a number of surfaces, although not quite as well as the Samsung in our opinion.

At 3 x 5.5 x 8.1 inches and 7.2 ounces, the SureTrack is a hefty, full size Bluetooth mouse. It’s great if you have big hands and don’t travel with it a lot, but not as ideal for those with small hands who need to throw it in a carry-on. The shape and design, however, do offer a nice ergonomic touch that was lacking slightly in the Samsung mouse.

Although the on/off switch helps to conserve battery, this mouse requires two AA batteries instead of just one. This is a very nitpicky con, however, and the main functionality of the mouse remains great.

For the slightly higher price, the SureTrack didn’t have any noticeable major advantages that would justify the cost and few drawbacks. The size is too big for most people, and although working on glass is nice, we didn’t find that to be a big enough draw to move it past the Samsung S.

3. Lenovo ThinkPad Bluetooth Laser Mouse

The two big features of the Lenovo ThinkPad mouse are the 4-way scrolling and the rubber matte finish. The latter is mostly cosmetic, whether you like or dislike it, although there is a definite advantage to having a mouse with more grip which the rubber does provide.

The 4-way scrolling is nice, but not earth shattering by any means. Some testers have had difficulty getting the side to side scrolling to work on Macs as well. Most websites today don’t require a lot of horizontal scrolling anyways, so while a nice feature, it isn’t all that necessary.

The size is right in the middle of the two best Bluetooth mouse models mentioned above at 6 x 5.6 x 2 inches and 3.5 ounces. This could offer a nice middle ground for someone who didn’t like the feel of the other two. The Lennovo ThinkPad mouse is still a great option and similarly priced among the best Bluetooth mouse models currently on the market.
